Brian Bartow finally put it all together at the Loggers Sports World Class Open show on Sunday (July 31).
The resident of Canby, Ore., posted victories in birling, the chokerman's race, tree topping and the climb, along with a third-place showing in the obstacle pole bucking event to capture the 2011 Logger of the Day.
"I had a pretty good day," he said. "Anytime you can get four firsts, you've got to be happy."
Bartow said he was most pleased with the win in tree topping and birling, as he got to edge out his rival and good friend Wade Stewart.
"I was probably the happiest with the tree topping, but it was nice to beat Wade in the log rolling," he said. "In the last competition we had, I was up 2-0 on Wade in a best of five and he came back and beat me three straight to win it."
It's the third year in a row that Bartow has won the chokerman's race in 麻豆社国产and he said he enjoys coming back every year to compete.
"I'd say this is probably my favourite place to come and compete," he said.
David Moses Jr. of Snoqualmie, Wash., picked up the Sportsman of the Day and said he had a good day overall.
"It's always a lot of fun to come to Squamish," he said. "It's really about the people, the crowd really gets into it and the people who organize the event really treat us well. That's why I keep coming back."
Moses won the single bucking event and also placed second in the double hand bucking, competing on the same team as his father David Moses Sr. He added a fourth-place finish in both the standing butcher block and the underhand chop.
Local star Jacqulin McNicol also had a solid day, posting the fourth-best time of all competitors on the chokerman's race. McNicol also picked up a third-place finish in the jill and jill hand bucking event.
Other winners included Rob Waibel (underhand chop), Mitch Hewitt (axe throw and spring board chop), Carson Bischoff (speed bucking), Sarah Mooney and Alora Paulsen (jill and jill hand bucking), Dave Macleod (obstacle pole bucking), David Green and Mike Forrester (double hand bucking), Karl Bischoff and Mitch Hewitt (standing butcher block chop), Karl Bischoff (powersaw tree falling) and Danielle Tkach (ladies single buck).
