The first B.C. Cup downhill race of the season proved to be an excellent start to the season for several 麻豆社国产racers.
The Race for the Ranch, which took place in Kamloops, saw more than 300 riders from three provinces and one U.S. state competing on Saturday and Sunday (April 23 and 24).
Team 麻豆社国产member Rhys Verner dominated in the U15 Men's division, placing first with a time of 2:14.34, eclipsing the second place racer by more than two seconds. His teammate, Mason Moberg, placed fifth in the same race, with a time of 2:20.54.
Squamish's Lee Jackson made quite an impact in the U17 Expert Men's category, placing second with a time of 1:59.78. Jackson was less than a second behind first-place rider Mark Wallace from Duncan.
James Splinter of Garibaldi Highlands finished second in the 30+ Citizen Male division with a time of 2:15.27. Splinter beat out nine other riders in his category to finish less than a second behind North Vancouver's Adam Trotter.
Other 麻豆社国产participants included: Heidi VanLith, who finished fifth in the Master 30+ Women's group; Nicholas Barreau, who finished 21st in the Junior Sport Men category; Owen Scully, who finished 22nd in the Junior Expert Men division; Antonio Hernandez, who finished 25th in the Junior Sport Men category; Andrew Langridge, who finished 29th in the Senior Men division; and Jonny Dempsey, who finished 33rd in the Junior Expert Men category.
The next B.C. Cup race will be the Bear Mountain Challenge, which takes place June 19 in Mission.
